Software engineering studio

DEVLECKCustom software engineering, process automation and applied artificial intelligence

We build software that survives contact with real users, real load and real deadlines.

01The studio

Small team. Senior work.

Devleck is a software engineering studio. We take projects that have to work — internal tools people use every day, platforms under load, automation that touches money.

How we work

  • Code you can inherit

Readable, tested and documented, so the next engineer is not starting over.

  • Design that carries weight

Interfaces built around the decision a person is trying to make.

  • Performance as a feature

Measured against real budgets, not a Lighthouse score taken once.

  • Secure by construction

Threat modelling and dependency hygiene from the first commit.

What we build

Five areas of work. Most engagements draw on two or three of them.

The foundation. Product built to last past launch.

  • Web platforms

Next.js and React applications built for scale.

  • Mobile apps

Cross-platform iOS and Android from one codebase.

  • Backend architecture

APIs, services and data models that hold up.

  • Performance & SEO

Core Web Vitals and technical search health.

  • Interface design

    Design systems, not one-off screens.

  • Security

    Audits, threat modelling, dependency hygiene.

Ways to work together

Build from zero

Discovery through launch. You end up owning a codebase and the documentation to run it.

Rescue and harden

An existing product that is slow, fragile or unmaintained. Audit first, then fix in priority order.

Embedded engineering

We join your team for a defined stretch and ship alongside your developers.

Case studies

Detailed write-ups are in progress. If you want to see relevant work before deciding, ask and we will walk you through it directly.

How an engagement runs

Five phases, in order. You know what you are getting at each one before it begins.

  1. 01

    Scope

A call, then a written brief: the problem, what is in, what is explicitly out, and what success looks like. No work starts before you have it.

    You get: Written brief
  2. 02

    Architecture

Technical plan and stack decisions, with the trade-offs stated. You get a fixed estimate per phase before anyone writes code.

You get: Plan + fixed estimate
  3. 03

    Build

Weekly demo of working software on a real environment. Not slides, not a status update — something you can click.

    You get: Weekly working build
  4. 04

    Harden

Test coverage, performance budgets, security pass and load behaviour before anything goes live.

    You get: Audit report
  5. 05

    Handover

Deploy, documentation and a walkthrough with your team. You own the repository and the infrastructure from day one.

You get: Docs + full ownership

What we commit to

  • You own the code and the infrastructure
  • Fixed price per phase, agreed before it starts
  • Working software demoed every week
  • Direct access to the engineer building it

Not sure which phase you need? Start with a scoping call. It costs nothing and you leave with a written brief either way.

07FAQ

What people usually ask

The questions that come up on almost every first call, answered without hedging.

How much does custom software development cost?

It depends on scope, but we quote a fixed price per phase rather than one open-ended number. A contained automation module typically lands in the low thousands of dollars; a full platform in the tens of thousands. You get the written estimate after the architecture phase, before anyone writes production code.

How long does a software development project take?

A focused automation usually ships in two to six weeks. A full web platform runs three to six months depending on integrations and data volume. You see working software every week from the first one, so progress is verifiable long before final handover.

Who owns the code you develop?

You do, from day one. The repository and infrastructure are created in your name or transferred to your organisation at handover, along with the documentation needed to run it. We retain no licences, no proprietary dependencies and no access that forces you to stay with us.

Do you work with companies outside Colombia?

Yes. The studio is based in Colombia and works remotely with clients across LatAm, Spain, the United States and Europe. Meetings are scheduled in your timezone, and we work in Spanish or English interchangeably, including documentation and code.

What happens after the project is delivered?

Handover includes deployment, documentation and a walkthrough with your team. From there you can run it yourself, buy support by the hour, or commission a further phase. There is no mandatory maintenance contract: if your team can carry it, that is the goal.

Can you rescue a project that has already started?

Yes, it is one of our three standard engagement shapes. We start with an audit of the code, infrastructure and security, and deliver a report with the problems ranked by impact. You decide what to fix and in what order before we touch anything.

What technologies do you build with?

TypeScript, React and Next.js on the interface; Node.js, Python and PostgreSQL in services; React Native on mobile. For AI we use the Vercel AI SDK with Anthropic, OpenAI and Google models, and pgvector for retrieval. We choose standard, well-supported technology deliberately: it is what your team can hire for and maintain.

How do you integrate artificial intelligence into a business?

We start from the problem, not the model. We identify a specific task with a measurable cost — support, document classification, forecasting — connect the model to your data with retrieval over your own documents, and measure the result against the previous baseline. If it does not beat that metric, it does not ship.
